Alloy 418 is a temperature resistant chrome-tungsten-nickel martensitic alloy.
649 °C' ye kadar yüksek stresli motor komponentlerinde kullanılmaktadır. Derin sertleşebilirlik ve iyi sürünme dayanımı, temper ve stres korozyon çatlağına karşı dirençlidir.
Heat treatment involves heating it to a temperature of 980-1010°C °followed by oil/air cooling, °and then subjecting it to a double tempering process at a minimum temperature of 620°C for a minimum of 2 hours.
